The X Factor is nearly over, with only weeks left before the Season 2 finale. The finalist preformed on Wednesday hoping to make next weeks semifinals. Each contestant sang two songs, one which is chosen by their coach, and the other is chosen by an online vote. The coaches chose unplugged songs, which requires less movement, allowing the judges to hear the singers voice and any flaws. Many will agree that the online voted songs were better suited for the contestants styles. There was one contestant that really stood out to the judges. Carly Rose blow the judges away with her performance of "As Long as you Love me" by Justin Bieber. Demi Lavato stated that Carly sang the song better than Justin.
This article is important because it shows how television is used for entertainment, as well as endorsement. I specifically chose this article because I have watched the X Factor and I like watching the contestants sing and reaching for their dreams. As a student this article teaches me that no matter what, anyone, whether young or old, can chase after their dreams. As a future filmmaker, this article shows me the different ways media is used. It shows me that you don't have to just make movies to be in the entertainment business. This show is very popular and as a consumer it gives me an example of the type of shows that many people like to watch.
Questions I have are: who will be the winner of the X Factor? What happens to the runner up?
