Wizards of Waverly Place reunion special.

The Disney Channel original series "Wizards Of Waverly Place" will be having a reunion episode sometime in the year 2013. Everyone will cone back to play their original roles in this one-hour special. The show has won a total of three awards for the Best Children's Program Emmy at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, in 2009, 2010, and 2012. The storyline takes place in Tuscany, Italy where the Russo family travels to meet their long lost relatives. Trying to prove that she is more than a carefree young wizard, Alex Russo, (Selena Gomez) gets herself into a situation that only she can get herself back out.

I believe this article is important because it talks about having a reunion for a show that has been going on for several years. This show has been successful for about 4-5years. This article caught my eye because I grew up watching the show since it first aired. As a future filmmaker this article affects me by showing me how successful a show can become. As a consumer, I would want to invest on a show that will be as successful as Wizards of Waverly Place. I have a couple questions on my mind, Why are the producers making a reunion episode? Does it involve money? Will this episode be entertaining? Are they planning to make more reunion episode in the future, not only in this show, but others as well ?

Breaking Amish

Scandal!!  TLC's reality t.v. show, Breaking Amish, appears to be fake. The show is about Five adults, ages 20-32, who have been isolated from the modern day world. They give up their little community to go to New York and see how life has progressed. Unfortunately, two members of the cast were photographed wearing modern day attire in the big city, in 2011. The two were claimed to be a couple and even have a baby. The show premiered on September 9th to 3.1 million viewers, making it the highest ranked debut.

This article is important because it shows the truth about some "reality" shows. It is fake and cannot be trusted. It also shows what producers, and directors would do in order to get high rankings. This article impacts me as a student and future filmmaker by releasing the facts and uncovering the truth about reality shows. As a consumer, this article benefits me because I would like to work on a project that has high ratings. Maybe expanding the truth, and over dramatize things will become a big hit in the industry. Questions I have now are, Are all reality shows like this? If not, How often does this happen? If all reality shows are like this then, How successful do these shows become? Is it worth lying to the viewers just so the show can get high rankings?

Guys With Children

A new show is about to appear on NBC called "Guys with Children". The comedy show revolves round three men, who are a stay at home father. In order to avoid school fundraisers, finding a real babysitter, etc. they hang out at bars and play it "cool". Their actions create tension with their wife's.
Los Angeles Times Television Critic, Mary McNamara, discusses this television program to underestimate fathers ability in parenthood. McNamara believes, "perhaps Fallon can be forgiven for viewing the fact that some men take care of their own children as earthshaking news because we keep treating it as such." McNamara does not believe that fathers theses days do not get the same credits that stay at home, mothers get.

This article is important because the writer discusses her opinion on society and television programs. She criticizes the the show, just as any other person would. This article caught my eye because i have seen this commercial and in my opinion, the show looks some what interesting. It makes me curious, as to what kind of things will appear in the show? This impacts me as a  student and future filmmaker because it teaches me that criticism happens everywhere, especially in the film industry, and it is okay to criticize some things. You shouldn't be afraid to state your opinions. As a consumer, this article could be used to take into consideration, whether or not, this show will become a hit. This articles leaves me thinking, will this show offend any fathers? Will this show become a hit, or will it just air the first series and just die down after? How does the writer come up with all the scripts?

‘Paranormal Activity’ Producer Scares Up New Haunted House Business

Blumhouse is using its expertise in horror film productions to create "an innovative and frightening haunted house experience in the heart of downtown Los Angeles." Blumhouse is very passionate about telling scary stories and now they are transforming the Variety Arts Theater into a thrilling Halloween attraction. "The Blumhouse of Horrors will bring visitors face-to-face with the ghostly spirits of the magician and his disciples, on the lookout for volunteers for tricks that could end in disappearance or death." The Haunted House will be open to the public from Thursday to Friday all throughout October. It will also be open everyday on the last week of Halloween.
I believe this article is important because it shows how working in the film industry can have different benefits. Blumhouse is using everything they know about film production to help them create this attraction. I specifically chose this article because the word Paranormal caught my eye. Horror films have been catching my attention lately. This article impacts me as a future filmmaker because it gives an example on the different things you can work on based on your knowledge and experience in the film industry. This article also impacts me as a student because I have learned that using my knowledge in one subject can also help me in another. The questions running through my head is will this Haunted House be successful? How many people will be attracted to the Haunted House? Will the Haunted House be scary?
